WE ARE THE RADICAL MONARCHS Truth and Justice

In Oakland, California, a city rich in history of social justice movements, tween girls of color come together as a new alternative Scout group called the Radical Monarchs.

In this charming and inspiring documentary, we follow the first troop of Radical Monarchs. The Monarchs earn badges not for sewing or selling cookies, but for learning about on Black Lives Matter, environmental justice, disability justice and Radical Beauty. The girls are given a safe space to learn self-love and sisterhood from the perspective of a young girl of color experience.

As the 2016 election comes and goes, the founders, two queer women of color, struggle to grow the organization as the Monarchs becomes a viral sensation and respond to the needs of their community.
