Each year at the festival AFI celebrates beloved classics and forgotten treasures in our Cinema’s Legacy section, and with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, this year’s AFI DOCS focuses on the fight for full participation and access to our country’s political system.
This year’s Cinema’s Legacy panel is moderated by Associate Professor of Cinema and Media Studies and Director of the Black Film Center and Archive at Indiana University Terri Francis and features Cynthia Salzman Mondell (co-director, SISTERS OF ’77), Connie Field (co-director, FREEDOM ON MY MIND) and Sandra Schulberg (President and Executive Director, IndieCollect which restored NATIONTIME-GARY).
