Charles Guggenheim Symposium

The AFI DOCS Charles Guggenheim Symposium honors masters of the nonfiction art form who inspire audiences by documenting and examining the human condition. The Symposium takes place during AFI DOCS and celebrates a dedicated and distinguished documentary filmmaker and their body of work.

This year’s virtual Symposium included a free screening of Porter’s National Geographic Documentary Films RISE AGAIN: TULSA AND THE RED SUMMER and an in-depth conversation with Porter on June 23, 2021, moderated by Variety’s Clayton Davis.
