LFG Feature Films In Person at AFI Silver

LFG

Following the screening, watch a special conversation with directors Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine and producer Abby Greensfelder moderated by Meet The Press on NBC Moderator and host of MTP Daily Chuck Todd.

Before the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the players of the U.S. women’s national soccer team filed a class-action, gender discrimination lawsuit against its employer, the U.S. Soccer Federation. This action is a landmark case — the largest public battle in sports since Title IX. LFG (the meaning of which you learn in the first moments of the film) follows athletes Megan Rapinoe, Jessica McDonald, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O’Hara, Sam Mewis and others on their resilient fight for equal pay. The women, who have won four world championships, reflect on what this case represents for the next generation of soccer players and women in industries across the world. This intimate and inspiring documentary will get you on your feet cheering and standing alongside them for the great fight for equality. LFG! –Sarah Harris
